Snapchat can now be with more music like TikTok.
Snapchat is planning a deal with Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, and Warner Music Group for licensing songs. Once it’s done, Snapchat’s users can embed songs in posts, according to a Wall Street Journal report.
This deal would allow Snapchat users to access to a big range of songs to use in the post. The feature is much like Instagram Stories and TikTok. However, the deal has not finalized yet. Snapchat is still in talks with the music companies to add more music to its app.
Snapchat is going to add more music
If the talk progress and convert into licensing deals, that would mean Snapchat would let you add musical features like to Instagram and TikTok. Instagram and TikTok let users add short clips to their posts. You can pick popular songs and use them in your post.
Previously, in December, Snapchat added a lip-syncing feature “Lens Challenge”. The feature allowed users to create lip sync video clip with augmented reality. Adding this feature to add music clips in any Snapchat video would definitely lure users.
Facebook has previously acquired deals and has added a number of new musical features such as an ability to add songs to user’s profile, also lip sync.
Though Snapchat is going for the deal we don’t know what exactly Snapchat want. And even how the new version with music feature will look like, and how it’ll work. But the confirmed thing is that the company wants users to provide more new features to lure and amuse them with the app.
