There are many discussions about ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) at the moment. People are now feeling the need and effect of ‘Internet of things’ in day-to-day life. But, what is IoT and how does it work? Let’s know-
What is IoT (Internet of Things)?
‘Internet of Things’ is an idea or concept for connecting physical objects from the Internet, in which they can interconnect with other objects or devices. Apart from this, these objects can identify themselves and other connected objects.
In other words, the Internet of Things is a network of devices, gadgets or appliances where software, electronics, and internet help connect with each other and allow them to communicate and exchange information.
‘Internet of Things’ explained in simple terms
Internet of Things may include radio-frequency identification (RFID), which is a mode of communication. Also, technologies such as a sensor, wireless and QR code are its part. Similarly, technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning are also associated with the Internet of things.
IoT is not just about connecting computers, smartphones or tablets, but a giant network where anything can connect with each other and communicate. And with this vast network, the surrounding is becoming a huge information exchange.
It includes unlimited objects with different shapes and sizes. Those items can be a self-driving car, which can get a path using its sensors, a smart microwave, which makes food with the correct proportion of time and temperature, or a wearable device, which can measure your blood pressure and heartbeat.
How IoT works?
In the above-mentioned paragraph we knew, what is IoT. And we also know, in the IoT platform, devices and objects are connected to the Internet, and even with each other. Similarly, their sensors exchange data from different devices as well. This generates analytical data and notifies the application to accomplish specific tasks.
Here, IOT platform is powerful enough to get useful information for work and ignore uselessly. The equipment uses this information to recommend, detect a pattern or diagram, and predict problems prior to the occurrence. Suggestions by IoT analytics using smart objects and systems can help us taking right decisions.
IoT in a nutshell
A technology is correlating with another one. And the rise of a technology gives other technologies an opportunity to emerge. We often hear words such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and the Cloud are connected to the Internet of Things. These emerging technologies are opening the door for their new potential uses.
